Thanksgiving Shopping List

thanksgiving shopping list

Hi guys!  Let’s talk shopping shall we?  Normally my favorite subject, but I realize on Thanksgiving, this can be a little daunting.  But honestly, for me, putting together my shopping list takes me all of 10 minutes.  And for you guys, if you’ve been following my menu, putting together your shopping list will take you all of 3 seconds, because I’m about to give it to you!

In case you need it, here are the appetizer and drinks, dinner and desserts menu!  And more about the 1800 calories plan here and here.

I’m also offering something kind of fun today!  If you guys sign up for the email newsletter, with your subscription I will send you a very easy pdf version of the menu and shopping list, so you can just print and go!  To sign up, just put your name and email in the teal bar you see at the top of your screen.  Easy peesy!

Ok, so why does my shopping list only take 10 minutes?  Well, because the way I write my menu.  So first things, I open a word doc (actually I use google docs because I can access it from anywhere, sooooo easy!) And I write out my menu, it looks something like this…

Ok and now for the shopping list, I go through each menu item and write down everything I need.  And I mean everything, even if I’ve already written it, it helps me know how much I need!  A lot of these items I have in my pantry already (breadcrumbs, sage, honey, etc.) But writing it out is also a sort of checklist for my pantry!  No last minute runs to the store Thursday morning!  Yuk!  Also, FYI, I shop at 2 stores; Trader Joe’s and Vons.  TJ’s really is my fav, but they don’t quite have everything I need.  I make my TJ’s run first, knowing if they don’t have something, Vons will.  (If you don’t have Vons or know what I’m talking about, it’s your basic supermarket, such as Ralphs, Albertson’s, you get the idea!)
