This post for Mulled Wine Kit is Day 9 of the 12 days of a Foodie’s Christmas series! For 12 days I’ll be presenting you with recipes for easy gifts for everyone on your list! For the overview and the rest of the recipes you can visit here.
Have you guys ever had mulled wine? You know I’ve always heard of it but had never had it until I moved to Colorado. I think maybe in California you never crave something warm and cozy like this drink because it never gets, well cold. Eric and I were at the Parade of Lights the other night and I tried a steaming cup of what is my new favorite winter drink! No offense to hot chocolate, but holy yum! This stuff is good!
If you like warm apple cider, this is very similar. Just maybe richer because of the wine. I must admit, I am currently enjoying all things warm drinks as I start adjusting to this thing called winter. I think I’m adjusting ok, but I know these warm cozy drinks are definitely helping. If you guys haven’t tried mulled wine yet, this recipe is a must try!
For a gift, I simply put everything in a cute mason jar with some twine tied around the top and gift with a great bottle of red wine. A perfect hostess gift for those holiday parties this weekend!

- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 2 tsp cloves
- 1 tsp ground nutmeg
- ¼-1/3 cup sugar
- 1 bottle of red wine
- Add all ingredients to sauce pan or crockpot
