I’m so very happy you’re here! These are recipes I made myself and I am so excited to share them with you!
First the disclaimer (my lawyer made me!) I am not an expert, I am not a Dr or dietitian. And I do not claim to be. You can take my advice, you can not. Everything on this blog is merely my personal findings, my opinions and my take on things. You can take or leave them. I am just a girl, that adores cooking and sharing with the world.
Phew, now that that’s out of the way, let’s talk!
First off, I use too many exclamation points. I’m sorry, it’s a habit. And I’m working on it. Hello, my name is Amy and I use too many exclamation points! So if you see too many, forgive me.
Second, I write this blog in a very casual voice, I want you to feel like we’re friends chatting about the food, while I’m pouring you another glass of wine. I would LOVE if you leave comments on the posts! Let’s have a conversation, it’s fun! If you want to get to know more about me, you can check out my about page.
Finally, if you like what you see around here, and I really hope you do. You can subscribe to receive recipes and updates direct to your inbox. I promise to never ever give away your email address. I also promise not to flood your inbox, 2-3 times a week, tops!
So here’s how things work around here.

All the recipes I post are considered low-cal, you’ll see the calorie count is in the recipe card. Now I know, calories are a controversial subject these days. Calories count. Oh, whoops, no they don’t! Heck, who even knows really?! Even the doctors are conflicted! For me, calorie counting works. Maybe, because I have a bit of a Type A streak (my husband is rolling his eyes, that’s an understatement). Sometimes I’m stricter with it than others. But for me, it works. You should experiment to find what works for you! I also try to keep my recipes mostly clean. That’s a hot topic these days, isn’t it? For me, I sorta naturally eat clean, again mostly. Because I like to cook most of my meals myself. Call it market research for this blog. But I do still enjoy bread, and a bit of pasta, which I know is not considered “clean”. Also, sometimes I just like an ingredient, or it works really well to make a recipe very low cal, which sometimes I find more important. For example, my ranch revised recipe is not at all clean, I mean laughing cow cheese wedges? Yeah, no. Buuut, this recipe is so yummy and soooo low cal, it’s hard to pass up. So honestly, I go back and forth, I just try to be as good as possible, because we live in the real world don’t we? That was a little more long winded than I meant it to be.
There’s lots of series. And there will probably be more! For my day job, I am a wedding coordinator. One piece of advice I always give my brides is to pick a theme. It helps create a cohesive and easier to plan event. My love of themes has translated to the blogging world with series’. I think my favorite is the cream sauce series, because seriously, I have a dry food phobia. Some other great ones are the greek yogurt series, the Make Ahead Sunday series, and another goodie Thirsty Thursday. Which features a variety of alcoholic and not-so-alcoholic recipes
Last thing, I love inspiring stories of what others have done and how they’ve succeeded. If you’re the same, you should check out the inspiration page. I think motivation and inspiration is vital, especially when you’re starting to get off course. Sometimes before a big dinner out with friends, where I know I’ll be tempted to order not so great food, I’ll read through some inspiration articles. If you have succeeded with successful weight loss or have a great tip of what works for you, I’d love to hear about it! With your permission I’ll even post it to the blog!
Last last thing, If you have ANY questions at all, please don’t hesitate to contact me! Happy cooking!
