You guys know, I love a traditional Thanksgiving. But this year, since we moved to Denver and our family is really spread out, I’ve been thinking about how to do Thanksgiving a bit… differently. There’s only 3 of us that are going to be together, do I really want to cook a whole turkey? And I’m the only one who likes stuffing, does that mean that’s out? I think a lot of people love the tradition of the holiday, yet are sometimes in circumstances that would allow you to do something a little more fun, something a little different than the traditional large bird, 11 sides, eat until you throw up meal!
For a while I’ve had this idea, and this year I decided is the year!
All the flavors of Thanksgiving, all the delicious food, all the fun with friends and family, just bite sized!
I’m going to make a bunch of Thanksgiving inspired appetizers, and serve them as snacks throughout the day! And we’re going to relax, have one or two of these, and watch football!
Let me ask you
Did I mention these recipes would also be perfect if you were to throw a Friends-giving Cocktail Party? Friend-giving is so popular right now, but maybe if you’re doing a traditional dinner with family, you want a more festive and social event with friends. A Friends-giving cocktail party with these appetizers would be perfect! And guess what, I’m even giving you an additional drink recipe!
Finally when I was making the recipes for this post, all in all, cooking took me about an hour and a half. And that’s with tweaking the recipes, thinking (that takes me a while), throwing out the first batch of sweet potato salad, because yuck! (it’s really yummy now!) and adjusting! So as far as cooking for Thanksgiving goes, this is SO easy! More time for fun with friends and family!
